Saturday (Feb 3) All Nite Skate played an instore performance at Culture Clash Records followed by a full rock out show at Micky-Finn's Pub. I got my fair share of records and discs that I've wanted for a long time at Culture Clash. If you're ever in Toledo, go there. Good stuff. Then head on over to Micky-Finn's Pub. This place destroys. Cole enjoyed some PBR on tap. Besides being molested, I enjoyed the warm and dark atmosphere of the bar (charges will not be pressed). Vandolah officially won me over with a set of incredibly catchy yet dark folky rocky songys. It was the first time I have ever seen The Anti-Villians, and damn. Wow. Cool man. Their songs were grand yet reserved at the same time. They set the urge in me to bring my Wildkat out of the depths of my closet again.
Dude, Toledo was effing cold. I don't know how our limbs stayed attached to our torsos, but they did. Ouch.
Hey Jessie: THANKS!
Jessie drove us through the treacherous snow drifts of US 24 to get to Toledo. Better yet, she safely navigated us back to Fort Wayne. Jessie=Totally awesome!
This is what I purchased at Culture Clash under the direction of myself and Jason Davis:
Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings and Food (LP)
Boris - Pink (LP)
Velvet Underground - Loaded (LP)
The Delta 72 - The R&B of Membership (LP)
Wolf Eyes - Burned Mind
XBXRX - Sixth in Sixes
The Ponys - Laced With Romance
Six Parts Seven - Casually Smashed To Pieces
The Boredoms - Seadrum/House of Sun
The Colts win was a great way to end a solid weekend.
